What can I expect at an Alexander Session?

Each lesson involves the study of the body in motion. The sessions involve basic movements such as sitting, standing, and bending along with activities particular to each student including those used in work, sports, or performance arts. Applying the principles of the Alexander method, the teacher gently guides the student to move in a freer, easier manner, reducing physical stress on the body. The sessions also involve work lying down, during which the principles of the Alexander Technique are used by the practitioner while the body is in a form of constructive rest.
